CJPAC Announces Opening of New Prairie Region Office-Faith Kaplan has been hired as Director, Prairie Region

posted March 31, 2015

Winnipeg – March 31, 2015

CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee) is pleased to announce that Faith Kaplan has been hired as Director, Prairie Region. CJPAC is a national, independent and multi-partisan organization. Our mandate is to engage Jewish and pro-Israel Canadians in the democratic process and to foster active political participation. We are dedicated to helping community members build relationships within the Canadian political arena. Based in Winnipeg, Kaplan works with communities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Faith is a lifelong Winnipegger who has been an active volunteer and lay leader in the Jewish community. She is the current Vice President of the Herzlia-Adas Yeshurun Synagogue board of directors, past president of the Winnipeg Chapter of Canadian Friends of Hebrew University, and has served in a variety of positions with the Winnipeg Board of Jewish Education, Gray Academy Alumni Association, Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, Rady JCC, and Hadassah-WIZO. Following a successful career in Marketing and Customer Care at MTS Allstream, Faith was an independent marketing consultant in the not-for-profit sector and Federation’s Director of Branding and Endowment Fundraising. She is currently pursuing an MBA at the I.H. Asper School of Business at University of Manitoba.

“I have been impressed by CJPAC for a number of years and was intrigued by the opportunity to work with their team during this election year. Through its unique programming, CJPAC is working to ensure that the community continues to be engaged in the democratic process.”

Kaplan will be delivering programming to groups from high school students to senior citizens. “Since assuming this role on February 2, I have met with members of Calgary’s Jewish community, hosted a CJPAC’s Connect program for young professionals, delivered a session at Limmud, and am coordinating a CJPAC Generation Session for high school students. Edmonton-based colleague Eleanor Millar oversees Campus Programming, including the CJPAC Fellowship program, which works with university students who have some political experience to become the next generation of political leaders. I am very excited to bring CJPAC programming to Winnipeg and the rest of the prairies, and to work with the community on becoming engaged in the Canadian political process in this federal election year.”

Faith can be reached at her home office, or by email, at [email protected].
